Hi
Welcome to Rootschat. I hope that we can be some use to you. You are looking for information about people who lived in Co Durham so I think this strand would do better if it were transferred to the Durham look-up requests.
All the best

Hi Gino,
Welcome to RootsChat.
I have moved the thread for you. Since We are starting with a deceased man born 1946 I can see the potential for information on the living to come out. Can I ask everyone to please take care with what you post re any possible living people to ensure their privacy is protected. Thank You.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat
The only Watkin Watt(s) birth that shows up on an Ancestry search is the one you found b 1905
However - there is a marriage of a Watkin Watts in Stockton in 1893 according to freebmd to either Sarah Ann Wood or Sarah Thompson so the 1905 Watkin may be their son
This is the 1901 entry for Watkin senior - he is shown as Watkins Watts
6A Victoria ? Stockton All b Stockton except Watkin

Hi Carole, the dates and names could be relevant, will check with Christine. As to the spelling differences I think that is downto the recorder as I have found numerous miss spellings in my own family search eg. Reeve Reeves Reive, even christian names transposed ie Richard George instead of George Richard and computer searches cannot cope with that. Gino.
