Thomas Anderson
« on: Monday 24 March 08 06:55 GMT (UK) »

I am trying to locate ANY info on Thomas Anderson who was born in Scotland in 1836, migrated to Fermanagh, Ireland with his family about 5 years later and then migrated to Australia in C1857. His parents were Thomas Anderson (born in Scptland C1786) and Anne Hume or Home. Any help would be appreciated. Maxene

Hi Maxene

It's not clear where you are looking for information - Ireland? Scotland? Australia  - or what you have already  - for example, on  his  Australian life.  Perhaps you have a more specific something you are trying to find out about, to start off with?

Is this your Curious Fox message?
http://www.curiousfox.com/history_S/dumfries_3.html

In Summary it says Thomas jnr was born in Lockerbie Dumfries in 1836 and married Jane McBarron on 17.08.1865 in Sydney, Australia.. He migrated to Australia with a brother, George - but George died on the voyage out.

Cheers

Hi, AMBLY - I am looking for ANY information from Lockerbie area of Scotland and/or Fermanagh in Ireland connected to Thomas Anderson and his wife Ann Hume/Home. I don't know if that is my Curious Fox message - I posted a number of messages a year or so ago - where ever I could think of (at that stage, I did not know that RootsChat existed - another researcher mentioned it to me this weekend).
I am hoping (probably stupidly) that there are Irish descendants of Thomas and Ann who will see my message and contact me. I don't need any info from Australia - I have access to that, although I have not been able to find a record of his journey to Australia nor a record of his brother dying on the trip (these things have been passed down as "family knowledge"). I guess unsuccessful searching by other means is making me desperate. Cheers, Maxene
