Looking for any information on Gideon Elwall or Elwell.
I know he was christened on 20 Nov 1803 in Dudley and he married a Sarah Screen on 18 July 1830 also in Dudley, I even know he died in 1849 but as to where is in between dates I have no idea as I can't find him at all.
I have found his parents William and Mary.
I can't find any of them on any Census, no matter which way I spell it.

Hi tazzie,
I have no idea what his job was or if they had children.
As soon as he is christened he seems to disappear until he gets married and then disappears again until he dies.
It's driving me crackers.

I have answered my own question ...yes ....
children of Gideon & Sarah Ruth 1831 Sedgley Staff
Isaac 1833 Gideon & Mary ?
Thomas 1835 Sedgley
so on having a 10 year old Ruth in the household as well how about this family ....
HO107/1208 f 6 p5
Gideon Eville 40 carpet weaver not b in county
Sarah 35 d/o
Ruth 10 d/o
Isaac 8 d/o
Thomas 6 d/o
James 3 d/o
Living Foxholes Kidderminster Worc.
They are indexed as EVILLE and this does look to be the spelling so could have been mis- heard.

These births are listed on IGI at familysearch .org
Ruth Ellwell 25 Sept 1831
Isaac Elwell 11 Aug 1833
Thomas Elwell 29 Nov 1835
all extracted records from Sedgley Staffs
father is listed as Gideon
Mother as Sarah for Ruth & Thomas but Mary for Isaac which I would take to be a mistake.
I will see if I can aee the children as Sarah may have re-married.
