Hello, I am currently doing my family tree, I have so far just over 400 family members dating back to early 1600's. However I am stuck on my mother's father's side. My whole family are from Bournemouth, Dorset and the family I am looking for have been in Dorset for generations.
My mother is Patricia Ann Howells nee Plowman, 1949 who was daughter to Ruby Plowman nee Tideswell 1924 - 2000 and Kenneth John Plowman 1923 - 1992. I know Ken had a sister called Rose (now surname is Lloyd). I haven't got far, I know their father was called Harold Plowman but not further and I would appreciate any detail/information for me to put in my tree. All I know is that Harold's wife's maiden name was Cutler.
I would be grateful for any help provided as being 17 I have no idea where to start for a family so difficult!
Many thanks, Regards Lorraine

Hello, Thank you for replying so quickly, I have just had a look at my grandmother's and grandad's marriage certificate and it has both their fathers on it. However I have found that it is Henry Harold Plowman - is there any record of this? Many Thanks

Hi
Just to confirm - is this the Kenneth Plowman/Ruby Tideswell marriage cert? Are you saying that Kenneth's father wasn't Harold - he was Henry Harold?
What was the occupation shown for Henry Harold Plowman on that cert and is he shown as deceased?

Yes it was my mistake, he is Henry Harold Plowman. On the marriage certificate of my grandparents he is alive (although deceased now) and worked as a mechanic.
I have just looked at my grandad's birth certificate and it has no name on it but is entry 127 of book 56 - whatever that means?

Ahhh thank you, I now have a name for my great grandmother for my tree. This might be able to give me more on the tree.
Thanks

My mother has just told me that Kenneth and Rose had other siblings names Arthur, George and Robert. So I don't know about those ones you just provided for me Toni.

RG12/683 Folio 115 Page 5 High Street Pembury Kent Henry T Plowman 36 Coachman Domestic Groom Dorset Blandford Elizabeth 40 Wilts Mere Alice 11 Scholar Somerset West Coker Rose 8 Scholar " " Harold 2mo Kent Pembury
ps. George was probably Harold George and Arthur was probably Henry Arthur so I think Toni has the right family....
