Hi Andrea

IGI has this record.
Eliza Tathum ch. 19.5. 1814 St Peters Sudbury, Suffolk.

Father William  Mother Mary .

To verify this and to find out William's occupation and possibly find out Mary's Maiden name, it might be worth contacting the volunteer who offers lookups for Sudbury St Peter at The Suffolk Surnames List.

http://www.suffolk-surnames-list.co.uk/

Mother's maiden names are not always given however.

hi
i have the marriage certificate of james vale and eliza tatum
they married in a baptise church in Colchester .

and her father was william and he was a miller
so i think he might be william 1791  cock field in suffolk

as you say i will need to access the baptisms to see if the above william was a miller.

Don't know if it is of any help, but there are a lot of Tatum families (spelt various ways) in Cockfield and surrounding parishes on  "The Cosford Database" (Compiled by Ray Long  ©2002 - 2007) http://fp.raylong.plus.com/
