Could any one check for Alfred & Alice Pittwell please?

I think they married Dec qtr 1857

Alice (nee Hawkins) born ? 1838

There is this Census entry that might be them :-

PITWELL
Alfred Head Marr 33 Ag Lab Buckinghamshire Cuddington
Alice Wife Marr 31 Lace Maker Buckinghamshire Cuddington
Sarah Dau Unmarr 15 Lace Maker Buckinghamshire Cuddington
John Son Unmarr 11 Shepherd's Boy Buckinghamshire Cuddington

Not sure about the ages.  Alice would have only been about 16 when Sarah was born if they are right.

Will check and see if they turn up on another Census

They had a large family but a little confusing 1891 Census
has another Joseph aged 8 yrs Embarrassed

In 1871 Joseph b.1858 is a nephew in Staffordshire, transcribed PETWELL,

1871  RG10/2845  f.50  p.26  Wedgewood, Staffordshire (Wolstanton RD)
Town: Brindley Ford 

Thomas KEAY         Head    Mar   58    Bursiller            Staffordshire Bilston
Sarah                     Wife   Mar   46        Wife             Buckinghamshire Cunningham
Joseph PITTWELL  Nephew  Unm  13    Assistance           "  "              "  "
Mary DORLEY       Servant    "     14   General servant    Staffordshire Newcastle


and I found this death,

Joseph PITTWELL    Age: 20    Mar Q 1879  Wolstanton    6b  77


I think maybe Alfred and Alice named young Joseph after his older dead brother, I have often seen this happen.


I also found this marriage on the IGI,

Marriage:  25 DEC 1860   Wolstanton
