chisholms in Natal

For Rutti tutti.
Hello. I have read the beginners guide.I have used NAAIRS in the past and have also obtained useful advice from Mike O'Conner. This is the problem I have. An Alexander Chisholm married a Jessie Young in Inverness, Scotland in 1905. Although I cannot confirm through passenger lists, I know that they emigrated to Natal because Alexander drew up his Will in 1925 in Pietermaritzburg. They returned to Scotland within the next couple of years because his brother William died in 1926 and Alexander inherited William's property near Glasgow, where he and his family lived until his death in 1933. There is also evidence in the ships' passenger lists to suggest that Jessie and her sons had returned to Britain and sailed again to South Africa in January 1915 on board the "SS Briton". I think the sons were born in Natal between 1906 and 1914.

The electoral register for 1935/36 shows the widow Jessie living near Glasgow in the inherited house with her sons Rodney Y and Alastair C Chisholm. There is no record of their birth (or death) in either Scotland or England, nor could I find a death record for Jessie, who had moved to East Sheen, London, by 1937.  It is my opinion that the sons and possibly the mother, returned to Natal. The sons' uncles Donald and George had emigrated to South Africa many years earlier. George returned to Britain but Donald married Eleanor Holderness out there and raised a family in South Africa.

That's all I know about Alexander and his family and I am keen to find out what happened to the sons. Can you help me or steer me in the right direction please? I am willing to pay for copies of  certificates etc.
I am not sure about the method of posting replies. My Rootschat email address is now defunct and I am not sure how to change it or find out if you or anyone else has replied to this message.
