Hi

The marriage certificate of Joseph in 1884 will give his father's name - and since there were two at about the same time that might be your best move!

Hi Thanks for the Link
I have looked at that web site in the past but never found any of my Brentnall family. Sad

Last might I sorted all my bit out and fornd the marriage & birth to confirm that Joseph Brentnall b1831 Christening: 23 SEP 1831 Gedling, Nottingham is the son of Benjamin Brenetnall & Sarah Sheperd
The fact that this line of Brentnall 's seem to have a shady past ! Joseph (my 2nd great Grandfather) Lied about his age, married had a child and was in prison in the same year then met Silvia and had a number of children out of wed lock. So my great grandfather was hard to trace as name he gives changes from Brentnall Seston to Seston to finally Brentnall Huh
Thanks for your help
