Whitehaven workhouse
« on: Wednesday 26 March 08 03:12 GMT (UK) »

Hello All just wondering if anybody can help ? Smiley
I have a copy of a death cert. for a Peter Mc Quirk and wanted confirmation that its MY Peter.
On the cert.Peter Mc Quirk died 17/01/1898 Union Workhouse Preston Quarter age 65 Iron miner, the informant was the Master of the workhouse no family mentioned.Would there be records of family or where they lived  at the workhouse ?
My Peter was Mc Guirk married to Jane,on the 1891 census as Guirk living at Cleator b1838 Ireland by 1901 census Jane is a widow living in Workington
