Could some kind person look up information about my GGGrandfather Thomas Edingborough who according to the IGI was christened on 16 Oct 1803 at Chipping Norton.
His parents are given as Thomas Edingborough and Sarah ?, I would like to know Sarah's name and if they had any other children. All I can find is a wedding between William Edingborough and Sarah Booth.
There's no marriage for a Thomas EDINGBOROUGH (or any of the variants beginning with "ED"!) and Sarah on the OFHS's Oxfordshire Marriage Index (1538-1837).
Chipping Norton is close to the county boundary - perhaps they married in Worcestershire or Gloucestershire?

Thanks for looking for me, will now look at other areas to see if they did get married. I will also look in the the Leicester and Lincoln area as there are many Edinburgh's around there.
On the OFHS's CD's are the actual original entries on or is just a typed list. I wish our English records were like my wifes Scottish ones were you can download the actal Parish record.
The OFHS's PR CDs are reproduced from the typewritten transcripts (if you've ever tried to look at fiches of original registers you'll appreciate the difference!).

I know the fiche produced by OFHS are in typed format but when like me you live in Somerset & have no transport of your own as well as being disabled the typewritten fiches are a great deal better than nothing & I would not have been able to do my research in Oxfordshire without them - personally I regard these fiches as being a marvelous aid to the researcher - I perfectly understand what you mean when you say the difference between these fiches & the films of the parish registers is a great & you are perfectly correct - nothing beats looking at a copy of the real thing & never will.
You got my old grey cells working, I was sent about 3 years ago scanned copy of my ancestors birth it was very poor quality. At the time I did not know he was mine, the copy was sent from Australia I can read it now thanks to the info you gave me.
I will be looking at the Somerset records shortly as my Thomas Edinborough married a John Adair from Wells.
My surname is Hill all from London which is a nightmare searching for even the BMD records.
To date I have searched my ancestors from home but we drive up to Scotland to search for my wifes ancestors from Essex.
