Nor sure whether this is going to help much  The only marriage I can see on bmd is for an Isaac Sackfield Asplin in Q3. 1842 in Ely. Vol 14 Pg. 108 There are three Mary's on the page  Mary Crabb, Mary Padget and Mary Rogers. Having said that - if Alice was 13 years old in 1850, that marriage is probably too late However, the name is unusual so if not yours, maybe a relative ?
So with all those Isaac's that Sue found, the liklihood of Isaac Sackfield being related increases ?

Yes will definately be related. My Sackfield had a brother Isaac bp. 27.11.1825 & I think married 1852 in Stretham, who also had a son Isaac bp 1853. Stretham. It is possibly the brother as I have no other Isaacs that are spelt Asplin not Aspland, closely related.

Hi Sue,
Have just received the birth cert of Elizabeth Aspland 14 April1849, states father Sackfield Aspland, mother Mary Aspland, late Rogers, formerly Page, hard to read, but pretty sure this is right. Signature of Mary is a X. Birth place is Sandhill, Littleport. Looking at earlier posts, Sackfield was living with a Mary Rogers, Littleport 1841. with a daughter Ann(possibly his daughter) & also a marriage of a Mary Rogers on the same page as Isaac Sackfield Asplin. Sackfield had a daughter Alice born 1837, but possibly to previous wife, Elizabeth. What do you think?
Maybe I need to get the birth cert for Alice too?
It does all seem to fit!

Hallo again.
Well firstly have found the following marriage for starters.
1836 / PAGE MARY / ROGERS EDWARD / LITTLEPORT
Its looking like the Asplin marriage found earlier is the correct one. If you get this cert, it will give you Marys fathers name, hopefully. Its a matter of choice whether you get the other childs birth cert.

The Rogers/Page marriage 1836 = Asplin marriage = 1842
Can only find one Edward Rogers death between those dates, as follows

That all adds up!
Both having previous marriages, losing spouses in 1839, then re-marrying in 1842.
1841 Census shows Sackfield living with Mary Rogers. Is it possible that the child Ann 2 is Alice 3 or 4? How accurate are the census records?
Do I need the vol & Page to order Alice as I did Elizabeth?
Please excuse all the questions? Am new at this!!
I visited Stretham in 1996 & 1999, wish I knew all this then!

Gaynor or Julie. Do either of you have any of the Oz death certs, I understand they give much more info than English ones.
If you have Marys, does it give her age on death, or are there any other sources with which you might be able to get an approx. date of birth.

Mary Asplin died at sea on the voyage,02 July 1850, so that's all the info we have.
Sackfield arrived with 2 children Alice 13 & Elizabeth 1.

There are several Mary Pages baptisms on Camdex, that could be our Mary, but only one of the folowing.
