Hi Kopperknob, This site is really good (though sadly it doesn't help you in this particular case, but might come in useful later): www.geograph.org.uk I came across it when I was looking for a farm in Worcestershire. I suppose the farm might have changed name during it's history. You don't mention a rough date as to when the house/farm esixted. If it has changed it's name you will be able to find the farm/house on an old map, and hopefully find the new name on a more recent one. The good thing about the above site is it gives map references. If you still can't find your house/farm you could try phoning the local library to see if they might have something in their local history collection. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck. Kind Regards, Paulene.
Thank you for your replies the year i am interested in is the 1800's my family owned/ran it (not confirmed which yet) but i know it later turn from farm to house, which my family owned.
Try the library local to the house, I never cease to be amazed at what maps and other information they hold, and what verbal information that they can offer.
I used to go past it when I lived in Kirkby in Ashfield. There was a clothing factory near it, so I often travelled there. I remember there being a windmill (this is about 9 years ago. The farmhouse was in good nick too. I expect there must be even modern photos of it. Perhaps if you look for the windmill you might find it.
