Hi All,
I'm trying to find the marriage of my 3G grandfather Samuel Wright to a Sarah at some stage between 1841 and 1851.
He was born in St. Martins, London (baptised at St. Paul's Covent Garden) in 1826. I've found a couple of entries that I think may be him aged 15 in the 1841 census and have definitely found him in the 1851/1861/1871 censuses where his wife is listed as Sarah and her birthplace as Hertfordshire (Hertford in '51; Bennington in '61; and what looks like Walton in '71). However having difficulty tracking down the marriage (which I'd like to do to a) identify his wife's surname and b) to verify his father's name (I think it's James).
In BMD there is a marriage of a Samuel Wright in Royston in June 1848, and there is a Sarah listed in the same quarter. Does anyone have access to Royston Parish Records to check before I order a certificate?
Thanks
Kevin
PS : I'm going to post this on the Middlesex board as well.

No children I'm afraid. I think the Royston marriage is the correct one, but it could be an expensive mistake if I'm wrong!
Thanks
Kevin

Hi
If you apply for the 1848 marriage cert - put a condition on your application that you only want it if Samuel's father was called ...........
If it's the wrong entry - the GRO will only charge you a search fee of £3

Hi Val,
Thanks for the IGI references - I'd already found James and Hannah, but hadn't thought of checking for possible siblings - I can now try tying these up in the 1841 census.
Cheers
Kevin
