Could someone  help with Jane Varney 8 months on 1861 Census birth place Tipner Hants I would think a catholic Church .She Had the name Mary Jane in 1871 then aged ten .I am looking for a Birth Certificate if I can find  a Reference.

Full GRO index checked for 1860 and also up to March qtr 1861- no birth registered for a Jane or Mary Jane Varney

Try the GRO overseas section since what you didn't mention was Jane's father was in the army. The army registers are held in the overseas section of the civil register.
