Can anyone help me... My wife grandfather (Francis Evans b.1918) married a Mavis Evans b.1918 married between Jan/Mar 1941.  She was living with Francis at 30 Ivy Close, Donistorpe til she died in 08/1973.

I'm trying to find out some information on her and I'm not having much luck...

Can anyone help...

Welcome to rootschat  Smiley

You really need the marriage certificate to find her father's name and occupation.  Then her birth cert to find her mother's maiden name and place of birth.

Marriage registration looks like  March Qu 1941 Ashby Z. 7a 302
Francis W Evans to Mavis Evans
You can order it online at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/
or direct from Leicestershire County Council at http://www.leics.gov.uk/copy_certificates_genealogy
