Cannot find person on 1841 census

I have been  looking for my GGGrandfather on the 1841 census.  He is on all the others which I have retained for their information, and details of his wife and Family

His name is Edmond Melbourn/Melbourne he was born 1809 according to the 1851 census in Great Wilbraham Cambridgeshire and died 1890.

I have a hunch that he was married twice/three times, but I can find no trace of him or his family in 1841  Roll Eyes

Any help would be gratefully received.

Ancestry has him as born in 1831 but age is given as 30. Wink

Edmund Melbourn age 30 is on the CFHS 1841 census at Gt Wilbraham HO107/72/8 folio 4b

I know that I am under the weather at the moment, but I still cannot find him!

What am I doing wrong and do you have to belong the the Cams Soc, before they give with the info?

I have done loads of these, never had this problem before!

I found him by just searching for Edmund MELBOURNE with soundex on Ancestry.

He is transcribed as Edmund MILBOURN.

no, you don't have to be a member of CFHS to search their indexes  Grin

You will not believe that I tried this, but I think that I was looking for Edmond, then I tried every other combination I could think of including wild cards!

I will now try again!

Rosie thank you for that, I have had this awful bug and a cold on top for the last two weeks so my head feels like an explosion!  Never mind eh!

Now Jen B what is Edmund jnr Birthdate? Just so that I get it right this time.  The other thing is that I think that this family can be traced back to the ark!  They did not move very far.

Would anyone like to have a go? [My Gramp was so proud of his roots in Cambridgeshire]  I have never been there sadly.

I would be so grateful for any other info, thanks to everyone for having come this far

Oh thank you all so much, I have now got all the census detail for the Melbourn clan.

I am very curious to know who is George?  Is there any way of finding out? Or can I assume that he is Edmund's Son/Brother?

The other thing I would never have found alone, [My eyes aren't as good as they were you see] was the ages because they were not the same on the front bit as they are on the original document, on Ancestry. 

Looks as if I have Edmund or George, Fathered Edmund, Fathered Pearce [Percy] who Fathered William my Grandfather who was a wonderful man.

Thank you all so very much, I am so very grateful for your help!  All of you.

Last question have any of you any idea if the parish registers for that area are on line?  I would like to confirm the ID of George in relation to Edmond Jnr father of Pearce.

I will have another go at the website that you gave me Rosie, but when I looked before supper, I had no luck with any of them!

Edmund Melbourne to either Mary Ann Howlett or Mary Ann Peters.

Edmunds baptism not on Cambs Fhs databases.
You need a look up now In Great Wilbraham Parish Records to see who Edmunds Father is George or Edmund from the 1841 census

Hi,
In the parish registers for Gt Wilbraham the marriage details are
Edmund Melbourne   bac  married Elizabeth Nunn sp  botp 27 Mar 1831. Wits William Webb R Stubbing.
There are no baptisms for Edmund in Gt or Lt Wilbraham.
