Sprowston birth mystery
« on: Friday 25 April 08 10:34 BST (UK) »

Hi,
I am unable to find the birth of Bayes Ward in 1799.

I have found a birth 15/12/1799 and Baptism on 22/12/1799 for a "man" on FreeReg and IGI and as "male" on the Norfolk transcriptions, in Sprowston, born to John and Elizabeth Seaman.

The rest of their children were born in Worstead which is the right area. I wonder if it is because the Christian name is illegible as I canīt find any death to fit. If he was christened surely he had a name.

I was hoping that someone had access to the Sprowston births and could look it up for me. I would be eternally grateful if I could prove it one way or another.

Thanks
Carolyn

Hi,

Just to say that I got in touch with the NRO giving them all the information and they looked up the record for me. It does say Man, son of John and Elizabeth, ....whatever that means. I can think of no name that fits. Any ideas?
