Researching the above names in the Durham areas of Hett, Barnard Castle, Durham City.  

Just a brief outline of the connections between names are as follows:

John AYRE born c1775 married Alice SHIELDS born c1775
Son of John & Alice = Thomas born 1801 married Jane DAWSON in 1825
Daughter of Thomas & Jane = Hannah born 1826 married Robert NEASHAM born 1832.
Son of Hannah & Robert = Thomas NEASHAM born 1866 married Margaret Isabella STEWART in Durham on 10/02/1890.  Following her death he married Elizabeth TAYLOR on 17/11/1905 in Durham Registry Office.
