dudjac,

What sort of info are you looking for? I will be going to chesham Library on wednesday and will look the marriage up for you but is there anything special you are looking for?
If you want a p/copy I willsend one to you but i don't have a scanner attached to this PC so it will have to be snail mail.

Hi Kay.

What I want to know is that did both parties reside in Chesham,
or did William come from somewhere else.
Any other details appreciated.
Not bothered about a copy at this stage.
Very many thanks for your help.

William and ann were both of this parish, and both actually signed their names. If you need any further help with william and Ann or anything Chesham bound, please just ask me it is no problem as the library has hard copies of the PR's upto 1837'ish

Hi Kay.

Very many thanks for you help.
Its not exactly what I had hoped for. I was hoping you would tell me he came from Abbots Langley.

The problem arises from an ancestor who married in Isleworth. The  1851 census for that area told me he was born in Aldenham, Herts.  However he  does not appear to have been christened in Aldenham.
The only person nearby according to IGI was Joseph WEEDON who came from Abbotts Langley (not far away). However his parents William WEEDON and wife Ann were married in Chesham, which you kindly found for me.

I just cant seem to link son Joseph with his father William.

Again very many thanks for your time and trouble.

william could have  been living and working in Chesham at the time, hence  being listed 'of this parish'. As you said Abbotts Langley is not far away and chesham was quite a little industrial place then.
If you need any further help for Chesham please ask

Hi Kay.
Further to your Chesham look-up for me, when and if you are next in Chesham library would you be able to look up the following for me:-

Birth/Christening of Joseph Weedon  26.1.1801. Details of parents and occupation (if any) appreciated.
There is a possibility he may have been born in Abbotts Langley.
I'm not sure if thats in Herts or Bucks.

Many Thanks.
