Was wondering if anyone knows of a George Whitehead born in Sheppy Sept 1838 or 1839. I am searching for him as well as his son George Joseph born in Thanet Sept 1866.

The only information that I have on them is from searching the Archives BMD index and trying to come up with a possible match. \ I do not know a lot about this family. What I have found out is that George Joseph Whitehead was born abt 1866 in Kent died April 1942 Croydon. On his marriage certificate dated 1889 his father George Whitehead was desceased. There is a George Whitehead who died June 1885 in Croydon so maybe it was him??? So many George Whiteheads around I do not know where to start. Awaiting the Mitcham Cemetery to send me some information.

Have you found George junior on the 1891 and 1901 census?
Who did George junior marry in 1889 and where did the marriage take place? Is there an address for George and is there an occupation for his father? Who were the marriage witnesses - could they have been relatives?

And welcome to RootsChat from me as well. No sign of a marriage of George Whitehead in Sheppy, Thanet area and unable to find them on a census. What was the occupation on the marriage cert.

George Joseph was buried in Mitcham cemetery Croydon so maybe his father was as well.
1n 1889 he married a Jane Matilda Coles in Croydon.
Occupation in 1889 census - sawyer.

Ok when you read the census they have him born in 2 different locations Are they near each other at all?

No - definitely not! Newington, London would be in Southwark, Surrey (just south of the River Thames - originally Surrey but since 1889 London) whilst Rolvenden is near Tenterden in the Kent countryside. Neither are anywhere near Thanet 
We shall have to think about this one
