Hi Folks,
I'm trying to locate to which Church John Henry HANDS, from Kings Norton, Worcs, might have married Sarah Ann SOUTHWELL in. If I have the right lass she was the daughter of George SOUTHWELL, a confectioner on the High Street in Bridgenorth and Ann.
According to the 1851 the High Street was in the parish of St. Leonard's. Was this the only Church they would have used?
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
The marriage of Sarah Ann Southwell to John Henry Hands was mentioned in the 20 Jan 1866 issue of the local newspaper The Bridgnorth Journal.
Source – my own book “Bridgnorth – News and Events between 1852 and 1900”
Within a few days, I’ll check the microfilm copy of the newspaper for any further details. I’ll also check the church register.

Gwynne,
Many thanks for this. I shall wait....patiently
Was this just a passing marriage or was the SOUTHWELL family "of note?"
Mike

Gwynne
This is excellent. Two for the price of one!
I should be able to build two more branches through to 1901 now.
Thanks again.
