Hello,
Can anyone help me with this one? Adolphus Alexandra Wise Filcher is mentioned in the 1881 census return;
Adolphus Filcher 26
Elizabeth Filcher 26
Marther Filcher 2
and is a gardner at stockton brook house.
My problem is that I cannot find him anywhere else. He seems invisible in other census returns.
There seem a few Filchers around the area but cannot seem to tie him in to any.
Any help would be appreciated.

This looks confusing, but it turns out that Elizabeth was married several times! She was already a widow when she married Adolphus' father:
