Probates after 1858 can be purchased by mail from the York Probate sub-Registry. 

Am I correct in assuming that indexes for such Probates can be consulted at York also? 

If so, would some kind soul please look up Emma Jane WEBB who died on 22 May 1876 in Bayswater, London. 

I would like to know whether a Will exists and also costs for obtaining same.

My son went for me and was told he wasnt allowed to look at them if he paid £5 they`d do the search and the photocopy was free which he did when it arrived the photocopy was appalling took use a month to decipher.
