Hi Kay,

I can't even see the marriage Huh

The one Leicestershire marriage I see in 1864 for an Anne Cox is to either a John Godber or a Daniel Sharman  Huh

Have a look at this Sharman couple - Ann is from Long Clawson - what do you think?

Do you have the marriage cert? What's Daniel's occupation?  Smiley

Well, I have a feeling there's something weird with that marriage - it doesn't appear on FreeBMD either!

So Daniel was a gamekeeper from Bestwould

Look at this in 1861:
RG9/2277 51 3
Prestwold, Leicestershire
Village Entrance Lodge
Daniel Sharman, head, unm, 37, Game Keeper, b. Northamptonshire Bulwick

Morning Tati

Well no wonder I couldn't find them!! I take it that Daniel was alone on the 1861 Census?   I have now found the christening of Daniel  and found both Daniel and Ann on the 1881 Census.

I think I will post on the Northants boards for 41/51 Census.

Many thanks for you help

1851 isn't much help ...

1851
HO107/2094 606 12
Braceborough, Lincolnshire

Daniel Sharman, lodger, unm, 25, Licensed Hawker, b. Northamptonshire Bulwick

in the household of a Joseph Francis, Farmer and Innkeeper (there are 4 other lodgers in the household)

I can't ID him in 1841 but the IGI has a christening (from an I-batch)
Danl. Sharman Christening 18 JUL 1824   Bulwick, Northampton Father John Sharman Mother Anne

Possible siblings:
Elizh. Sharman - Christening 07 FEB 1836 Bulwick, Northampton
James Sharman - Christening 29 JAN 1832 Bulwick, Northampton
Edward Sharman - Christening 26 MAR 1826 Bulwick, Northampton
Wm. Sharman - Christening 08 FEB 1829 Bulwick, Northampton

Which makes me think this is likely to be his brother & father in 1881:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=16996633

John and daughter Eliza are in Bulwick in 1851 therefore I assume they should be in 1841 as well - if only I could find Bulwick! Does anyone know under which parish Bulwick comes in 1841?  Tongue

Hi Tati

Many thanks for your detective work in searching for my elusive ancestors! I certainly have a lot more info than I did before - pity that the 1841 didn't turn anything up.

Once again many thanks
