The National Archives at Kew hold records of rates, dues and staff appointments for the Darlington and Castle Barnard Railway http://tiny.cc/xOXzK This railway opened in 1856 and closed in 1965. www.railbrit.co.uk/Darlington_and_Barnard_Castle_Railway/frame.htm
Barnard Castle Station opened to passenger traffic in 1861 and closed in 1964.
