Hi Folks
Trying to find out if my roots are in Suffolk.  The said Thomas Diggins born 22/08/1785 in Henley Suffolk, served with the East Suffolk Militia and married Jane McDonald in Aberdeen on 07/05/1807. She was a farmer's daughter from the Parish of Fetteresso in Kincardineshire.   The couple seem to disappear at this point, (maybe Thomas was posted to fight overseas in the Napleonic Wars and Jane followed him)
My great great grandfather John Dickson had no birth certificate, but on his marriage in Glenbervie, Kincardineshire in 1832, he gives his name as ' Diggins '  There is a birth in Fetteresso of a John Diggins 1808, could this baby have been born to Thomas Diggins and Jane McDonald and left behind
while his parents went abroad.  If anyone out there can throw any light on this I would be eternally grateful.
