Robert Armstrong of Kirkby S

Hello All,
I'm looking for the names/birthplaces of the  parents of Robert Armstrong born possibly 6th or 15th March 1835 in Kirkby Stephen, Westmoreland.
It may be that the parents were from Dumfries.
Any bells ringing anywhere?

Who were his parents?  Do you have a copy of Roberts marriage cert which should give his fathers name and occupation

He is not on the 1841 for Westmorland

Have you checked the IGI at www.familysearch.org as there is an entry which fits your profile

I haven't ordered a birth cert, as this line isn't directly connected to mine. I'm just doing some tentative research to see if I can link a variety of southern-based Armstrongs.
I was told this family followed this route: Dumfries/Westmoreland/Manchester/Hampshire
I'm fairly happy with what I've seen after Robert's birth, but was hoping to see Scottish parents.

There is quite a good site online for KS - cannot remember the address but I expect it will show on a google search or via www.genuki.org   They have an active history society too.
