Noticed you have a few Pughs who married Davies's. I have a Thomas Pugh b1838 who married Martha Davies. In 1861 census they are living next door to the Davies family in Church Street. Thomas was a sawyer so probably related to yours.

Have you seen Mabelsgirl post on Pughs of Bishops Castle. It is the same line as mine. I have only just discovered this site so I am quite excited at finding a connection so soon! Grin

I have posted a few comments on Pughs of Bishop Castle. I believe  Thomas Pugh b1838 who married Caroline Davies remarried after her death in Sep Qtr 1859. I have him as marrying Martha Davies in 1860. Thomas was my gg gd father.

Have just received the death cert for Thomas. He lived in Waggon St. Old Hill in 1901, a sawyer aged 63 and a widow, and on his death cert dated 3 March 1904 he was 66 and living at 43 Wagon St.  His occupation was a timber sawyer which also fits in with info I have.

The informant of his death was his widow Jemima. So he must have married again. On 1881 census he was a widow aged 43 but by the 1891 he was married but wife not down on census. In 1901 he was again a widow.

Have tried to find this marriage and also the death of Jemima, but no luck. If you have access to 1891 could you please try to find Jemima?

Have just had a look on ancestry and found Thomas's marriage to Jemima Tonkins Sep Qtr 1903. So he died a few months after this and that makes 3 wives for him.
