Hello List
I am looking for the family of William SOWERBY b 1785 Farlam, Cumberland - parents George and Mary nee Hardey .
William married Frances GRAHAM in 1808 and had the following children - all born Farlam ( I have the census results for son William b 1810 )
His other children were:
Thomas b 1812 - m- 1830 to Mary TURNBULL
George b 1814 - m- 1840 to Ann WHARTON
Jane b 1817 -m- 1836 to Joseph PEARSON
Elizabeth b 1819 m - ??
Mary b 1822
Isabella b 1828
Joseph b 1829
Any help would be most appreciated
Kind regards Kiwi

Hello again Tati!
Thanks so much for those census results - wonderful! I presume Wm snr died before 1861..however, I would love the HODGSON entries for 1861 and 1871 if you have them ( and maybe the any of the others? )- the spelling in 1861 is more accurate than the 1851 for HODGSON - but what a name!
I just found Jane SOWERBY and Joseph PEARSON moved to sth Shields Durham ( a daughter, Margaret married James VEITCH in 1871 ) so the Pearson family should be there from about 1840.
Thanks again

hello again,
I just had a look at daughter Fannie in 1871 - says she is a widow but I found her with husband and kids in 1881....she should be Frances ROUTLEDGE who married William Senhouse ROUTLEDGE 1874.
Any idea if widow is correct?
thanks Kiwi

Many thanks everyone for helping to sought that mystery out!
I have another now - the George LOMBY in 1861 may be a typo - I am thinking it might be SOWERBY as a George S was born to Mary SOWERBY ( nee GRANT ) in 1846, Farlam....father would be George Sowerby who died 1854.
I wonder if Mary S shows up in 1861 - I have George b 1846 married in 1881 with children.
Thanks heaps
Kiwi
