John YOUNG - Born Batcombe about 1775?
« on: Wednesday 02 April 08 09:22 BST (UK) »

If anyone has access to the baptism records of Batcombe or Upton Noble, can they tell me if there is any reference to the birth and baptism of John YOUNG in about 1775?

His parents are supposed to be Wadham YOUNG and Kimbry (possibly Kimbra, Kimbera, Kymbra or Chymbra) YOUNG (nee CANDY).

So far I have seven children for this couple between 1759 and 1772, but this entry lies just outside that date range.

Many thanks for any help.

The burials for Batacombe have been indexed and these may be of interest to you:

Kimber Young d/o Kimber and William buried 20 March 1770
William Young s/o Kimber and William buried 20 March 1770

also:

Ann Young buried 25 March 1770 (no relationship given)

Dear Carole

Many thanks for this information.

I assume that the deceased were actually children of Wadham and Kimbera YOUNG, although it looks as if they've been transcribed as William and Kimbera Young!!

Although it's sad, it is always helpful to identify children who died in infancy, if for no other reason than that they didn't ever grow up, and so there won't be another generation to look for!

I'll certainly keep an eye out for what became of other members of this family, including (perhaps), John Young.

Thanks for taking the trouble to write.

Kind regards

Philip Candy
