Hi, I am hoping to send for a Death/Cert of William Stringer and have found one on Freebmd of a William Stringer Dec.Qtr 1841 -Wolverhampton which I believe is reg.dis.for Kinver but having so many "wrong certs" am trying to confirm if he was on 1841 Census. His two sons age 20 and 12 were working as Ag.Labs on farm and not with parents. Mother was Elizabeth and marr. 1824 at Kinver. Son John born 1831 and died 1835. I do not know if Elizabeth also died. If William or Elizabeth is not on Census I presume they both died as Thomas (12) yr old marr. in 1849 stating Father William deceased. Hope this makes sense but would be grateful for any help either by 1841 Census or burial records of Kinver as I cannot seem to find any reference to B.M.D's online. Many thanks Syljun

Where were the sons in the 1841 census
The other son age 20 ? What was his name?
I've seen the baptisms for Thomas 1827 +John 1831-35 Kinver. + a marriage for a Wlm Stringer +Elizb Brice at Kingswinford 1824.
Jackie.

Hi, 1841 Census has William Stringer age 20 and Thomas Stringer age 12 lodging at Compton, Kinfare working as Ag.Labs. Parents are William Stringer and Elizabeth Brice -marriage 1824. Difference in yr birth of William and marr. of parents. 1861 Census has William Jnr marr. to Eliza living at Enville, Thomas marr. to Elizabeth living at Gallows Tree Elm, Kinver. I know that on 1851 Census Thomas and Elizabeth were at the home of Elizabeth's Father but do not know where William Jnr was so could be of help as I do not know the date of his marriage. Thomas and Elizabeth marr. in 1849 when he stated William Snr. deceased so must assume both parents had died. Many thanks, Syljun
My thanks also to Indaloman. I was in act of replying to your mess. when jacquelineve's came through.

Big favour needed, Just found marriage on Freebmd of a William Brice and Eliza Saddler Dec 1852 Wolverhampton Could someone please find where Eliza was living on 1851 Census please. 1861 Census living at Enville . Wonder if William married in correct name of Brice then reverted to Stringer or is this just a coincidence. Thanks Syljun

Thanks Jackie, Sounds promising but is it plausible William would have got married in name of Brice rather than Stringer if he then took name of Stringer, still strange things happen. 1st child Emma Stringer born abt Dec 1852. Same time as wedding. 1861 Census has Mother Eliza age 28 so age fits Eliza Saddler. Many thanks for info. Syljun

Re -Changing Surnames. My g.grandfather-John Evan Ellis, his mother never wed, 1851-61-71 census ...... ....... ..... 1881 John Evans 1883 Ist marriage John Mills 1892 2nd .......... John Evan Ellis.
Mills was the surname of his step-grandfather,his sister's maiden name changed to Evans on her marr.certificate. So, for whatever reasons it did happen
