Help!

I am trying to locate a marriage for Louis Dicks to a Leah? (Lipman?)
I have them on the 1861-1881 census. Louis was from Stargardt? Preussen and Leah from Haarlem, Holland.

Any help tracing this couple would be great

Thanks

From 1861 and 1871 it looks like eldest child Isaac born 1856-ish in London?

Could be:
Louis Dick
Leah Lemon
m. Sep 1854 quarter, London City, Vol 1c page 275

Louis' birthplace might be:

I've tried looking for birth/baptisms of the kids,

I've searchd FreeBMD and from 1855-1880 on Ancestry and cannot locate any of them.  If they were born in England they must have been registered...mustn't they?  I even looked for 2 of the more unusual names without a surname on FreeBMD, nothing came up with a surname resembling Dick(s).

There is a guy on Genes Reunited with a number of the kids and a Lous Dicks in his tree, hopefully Penn'll be able to get some info from him...

Based off the various census records, some possible children found on freebmd:

Lionel Dicks, Dec 1877, Mile End
Simon Dicks, Mar 1875, Mile End
Elias Dicks, Mar 1873, Mile End
Samuel Dicks, Mar 1871, Mile End
Amelia Dicks (Milly in 1881), Mar 1869, Mile End
Lina Dick, Mar 1867, St Giles, or Selina Dicks, Jun 1867, Mile End ('Lena').
Rebecca Dicks, Mar 1865, London City
Solomon Dick, Sep 1860, Whitechapel (Saul in 1861/1871 = Solomon in 1881?)

Perhaps the earliest children were not registered - the percentage of births recorded rose over time.

Unfortunately, there are no ship records that were kept for arrivals into the UK from Europe, so you'll have to look for records on the European side.

http://www.progenealogists.com/poland/prussianemigration.htm has some interesting info about what might be held regarding Prussia emigration records in Polish archives.  There are some records for Stargard in the www.familysearch.org catalog including some population lists and church records.

For the Netherlands, www.familysearch.org suggests Emigranten naar Amerika en Andere Landen, 1831–1877.  They also have the  Bevolking for Haarlem on microfilm (dynamic census/population register - she may be listed there when she left the country).
