johnston emery

Hi everbody,

I am trying to find a bith certificate for a Johnston Emery who was born in the newcastle area in 1915 he could also be known as a Johnston Emery Bowes I have his marriage certificate but cannot find his birth. Is there anyone out there that can help me.

Hi 

Are you sure you have the right birthyear and name as there is no birth entry for 1915 on the full GRO index under either of those surnames

The full GRO index is available at your nearest main library if you live in the UK.  It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry subscription or at www.findmypast.com which is a paysite

It means downloading 8 images per year to search for him under both names so you really need to try and establish his correct birthyear to cut down on the search time 

This is a freebmd entry and seems a bit coincidental given that christian name   http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

Thanks for your help, He was born in the first quarter of 1916 in newcastle sorry I said 1915.

You said you had his marriage certificate...that should hold the name ( and occupation) of his father.

CatOne spotted the birth of a Johnson B Emery (March Qtr 1916-Tynemouth Reg. District) with mother's surname or maiden surname of Mason.


There is an interesting marriage on FreeBMD.. June Qtr 1916 , Morpeth Reg District.  William J Emery/Ellen J Mason

Then thereafter in Morpeth RD, there are other Emery/Mason birth registrations.
