Hi

I am looking for any information about the birth family of Elizabeth Ann Bartram,  she married at St James Piccdilly London in 1825,  a kind rootschatter looked up the marriage entry for me

Thomas Payton of this parish
and Elizabeth Ann Bartram of this parish
were married in this church by Banns
this twenty sixth day of June in the year 1825
by me J Maddy Preacher Assistant
This marriage was solumnized between us
Thomas Payton (signed his name)
Elizabeth Ann Bartram (signed her name)
in the presence of
J W Bartram (signed name)
Mary Bartram (signed her name)

Thomas & Elizabeth Ann Payton had 5 or 6 children in London before moveing to Cheltenham about 1835 (from the birthplaces of children)  I have found them in Cheltenham in 1841 and 1851,  by 1861 Thomas is a widower,  but I can't see a death which looks like Elizabeths on Free BMD.  In 1851 Elizabeth gives her place of birth as Cheltenham but I can't see a baptism for her in the IGI - or any Bartram entries for Cheltenham come to that.

Can anyone help me with any other details of the Bartram family that Elizabeth belongs to?

If the estimate of birth year from the census is correct at 1807 then she would have been underage at marriage so J W Bartram may have been her father,  but I don't know what J W stands for

Help - anyone?

             having a little muse to myself..say she was born in London because that's where she married (and there are quite a few Bartrams listed on the IGI) there is a marriage for a James Wright Bartram to an Ann Towers in 1809 13 th June,St Martins in the field Westminster..

Ohh that's an interesting one Hepburn,   thanks for that  I had wondered if she might have been born in London,  though the one census I have for her with a place of birth is definitely Cheltenham and it's not ditto'ed from the one above cos he was born in Berkshire,  it also ties in with 1841 where her birth place is born in Gloucestershire.  However the family obviously have strong ties with London so James Wright Bartrum may well be connected - Bartrum/Bartram does not seem to be that common
