Rose Annie E Mallison CAMDEN

Rose 1887-1947 was my dad's mysterious favorite auntie who left the family in Wakefield and went to live in London. Evidently she never married but there was talk of a "man friend". Yesterday I discovered an old notebook c.1945 in a pile of old stuff of my late dad's, that's been stashed away for over 50 years, in it there is written; Aunt Rose.  Mrs Mallison-Payne. 58 Camden St, Camden Town. NW1........................Could anybody possibly milk anything more from that ? It would be great to fill in a few gaps for my 2 surviving uncles. Thanks. Alan.  Smiley

That's her alright, Ruth was my grandma. But it's her later life in Camden that's a mystery/secret. I have a theory she may have had a baby in Halifax in 1913 and then flew south to avoid embarrassment, but that's total guess work Roll Eyes. Alan.

Do you have her death certificate? You might get lucky with the address/informant. I can't find much out about the address except that it is now flats.

I don't have any of her cert's but may have to get her d. if I can't find anything else, I tried the net for local directories and cemetery registers but without success  Huh, I was hoping there might be somebody out there more familiar with searching that area  Undecided. It's a shame the old houses are gone, it seems to be the same story everywhere, I turn up with my camera and they were knocked  down just last year etc.  Cry
