Hi can anyone help me with a long shot!  Ellen Lapraick Brown I believe married someone called Alf who came from Tugby, he died there in the late 1950/60s. Ellen was born in Scotland in 1870 and seemed to have disappeared after the 1891 census. Another long shot was in 1901 census she could have been a nurse in Essex(but no joy from that). I know I am very vague but any help would be great, Thanks AngieB Huh

If they married in England - the marriage will either be on freebmd if it has been transcribed - or on the full GRO index

The full GRO index is available at your nearest main library.  It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry subscription or at www.findmypast.com which is a paysite
 
It would be easier if you knew "Alf's" surname as there are lots of Ellen Brown's.  If she didn't use her middle name when she married it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack
