that looks good Sue but i wonder how many Darby there were in Worksop when Sarah was born usually they are all connected 1, maybe 2 or 3 families but connected none the less
that would give us something to work maybe a contact to nottingham ro might help does notts have a family history society?

never mind, still i wonder how many darbys were in tworksop at the time of Sarah Anns birth i really think contacting teh records office is the way to go or getting a fiche from the local lDS centre - i have never done this

Birth certs for William and Mary Ann ordered. Hurry up postie!

I was hoping to get to my local library to take a look at 1841 for William but they don't have an ancestry subscription.

I think there are a fair few DARBYs -but I agree - the family you found looks like it could be Sarah's grandma and Mum and Dad and siblings.

One of Sarah Ann's grandsons (my great-grandfather) was named Bernard so that might just be a clue? (or it could be coincidence  Roll Eyes )

John believed he was born Bentley in Yorks, not Notts - he says so in every census I have him in. So I would put the Notts-born Johns in 1841 as not quite as likely - but again you never know.

Must go - will pop back tonight!

  His name is spelt different but his occ is a publican  Huh
