Do you have any suggestions on what I could do to find any more info. on Anthony Campbell born 1786 Balmaghie? I have checked Scotlandpeople and can't find anything. What would be my next step?

The stone is close to the church on the side next to the new graveyard.

On the same stone:

Geo. Campbell d. Auchenhay 10 June 1851 in his 17th year.
Adam Campbell. d. Dumfries 15 Sept 1883, aged 44.
son James  d. Dalbeattie 16 Sept.1890, aged 55.
son Captain George drowned crossing the Nassau river January 1894, in his 40th year.
son Captain John drowned (with his sons George and Ernest) near Perth,Western Australia, August 1907, in his 64th year.

I have as children

Robert June 1811
Anthony July 17 1817
Mary Campbell March 23 1824

I'm not sure why this is all so very important to me, but it is, and I cannot express my graditude. Smiley

Hi Tiana  Smiley

Is it possible for you to start a new thread on this board about Anthony Campbell, giving the details and children's names/bpt. dates.

This thread might get a bit muddled otherwise.

Gadget  Smiley

Added - there was a son John bpt. Balmaghie, 17 July 1809. So we have John - Robert - Anthony.

I am tracing  the  family tree of
William Dalziel born 1821/ 22 at Twynholm, kirkcudbright
His wife was  Agnes Telfer  she was born at Girthon  1821 and they married there. She worked at Girthon Manor as a servant I belive.
Her father was  Samuel Telfer. Her mother Sarah Scott
William and Agnes were still living at Borgue  village in 1881.
William was a tailor and clothier all his life.
any grave stones or information would be great as this is a long distance trace
many thanks

Hi Purlin and Kitty

and welcome to Rootschat Kitty  Smiley

If Calleywoods hasn't come back to you by tomorrow evening, I'll have a look for you as I have the MIs for all of the Kirkcudbrightshire parishes  Smiley

I've been travelling today, so feel a bit too tired to do anything serious  Undecided

Hi Kitty  Smiley

Do you need other help besides MIs?

If so, it might be worth you starting your own topic on this board.  To start a new topic, go to the top of the Kirkcudbright Board and click on the 'New Topic'. Then put in a suitable phrase in the Subject line and ask your question in the message box.

Regards

Hi stoop  Smiley

This is Callywoods' thread for Anwoth and Girthon - maybe you could do a separate look up request or it will get a bit mixed up  Undecided
