On "Ancestry" I have a birth for a Nicholas Henry Martin. Registered in Redruth Q2 1847.

Unfortunately, the full St Catherine ref is not given.

On the Original, Page 52 (of 226), the volume ref is easy: ix 9.

The page number is debatable. I think it is 342.  I might be wrong and I'd be gratefull for any help and/or opinions.

I agree it looks like 242 on Ancestry - the scan on Findmypast is even worse!

I also thought maybe 242
If you go to FreeBDM and do a search Jun 1847 and Redruth and 9 242 but NO names you will get 6 hits
If you do the same with 342 there are NO finds.

FreeBDM has a list of valid page ranges  
For 1847 Jun, Volume 9 Redruth the valid page ranges are given as  
Jun 9 227-277 Redruth (to 1974)   1,6 2 398

This is probable range 227 to 277  
1 birth before the range
6 births after the range
2 pages missing in the range
total number of births 398

On the FreeBDM search page, go to advanced facilities  and then page ranges
