Looking for a start with my grandfather, Harry (but could have been Henry) Freeman. Born 1909/10 was second husband to Pretoria Myra Huband (born 1900/01). First husband was a Barley.
Harry died sometime between 1967 and 1971 in Bromsgrove. Lived his early life as a gardener (or gardener's son) at "the White House" (that's what the family calls it) on Alvechurch Highway, Lickey End (you can see it next to the large water tank on Google Earth or MultiMap). If memory serves me right, he was living in Charford at the time of his death.
I have made good progress with Pretoria's ancestors but can't get that first step I need with Harry to put me into the zone of free on-line records and searching by means other than on-line is difficult from Australia. Can anybody help?
Dad was born in 1934 and was the first born from the union. He has three older step-brothers (Barleys). On that basis, I would assume that the Freeman/Huband(Barley) marriage took place around 1930+ (assuming there was one!). Dad's Baptism certificate has Harry and Pretoria living at School Cottage, Lickey End.
