Does anyone Know where I may find old newspapers from Preston. I am looking for reference to a death of Lawrence Holden who died 20/12/1842 due to a fall from a scaffold. I think he may have fallen from Preston prison. He was not an inmate, just a builders laborour.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Preston Library probably has a LOcal Studies Unit you could email and ask can they help.
google for the email address of the Library.

Have you tried the free Gail Trial (mentioned on Rootcshat) this
has Preston Newspapers amongst the collection.

I will contact the local library and see what they have available, I'm struggling to get a trial with Gale. I'm not sure exactly when or if at-all it would have been in the press. His death wasn't registered until 27th December.
