I know there probably won’t be any gravestones but both my Greatorex & Jones were Christened, Married, and maybe buried in St Mary Church These are just a few of many that I have the death years for that I am interested in finding the burial place of. 1 of the first generation. George greatorex Born 1825 Handsworth Christened 30th April 1826 St Mary He died in W.Brom 1901. Mother was Deborah Greatorex (nee Philips) she died 1847 Father was Anthony Greatorex
Out of the second generation. William Anthony Greatorex death reg 4q 1892 Cannock age 75.He was christened March 5th 1820 St Mary Handsworth. William was married to Margaret (Nee Groves) she died, reg IQ Cannock1905 Age 79.
Top of the tree is Anthony Greatorex Born 1780 or 90 cant remember without looking Then there is Samuel c 27th September 1812 St Mary Handsworth son of Anthony Greatorex & Deborah nee Philips. I have three newspaper cutting (of later Greatorex) of death a funeral announcements with a picture of each ancestor, very kindly sent to me by another member. Unfortunately all three in the 50’s & 60’s were cremated in Golders green Luton. My Greatorex were well known in the community for various reasons. Would there be a newspaper for 1901 in W.Brom that might have an article on the death Of George Greatorex? because that would mention the burial place. Thanks for any help on the above mentioned

Hi Celia
I have come across the name Greatorex in my research and they are from Thorpe Salvin in Yorkshire, a short distance from Worksop in Nottinghamshire.

I have had a quick look through the 5 generations of Greatorex they did spread out to various places but most stayed in an around Stafford, after the early nineteen hundreds i don't know know where any of them went.i have a Birth for a greatorex in Leeds in the 1940's. one in Yorkhire i think-So anything, anywhere, you come across will be most welcome. Then i can go through and see if it fits
