William Russ - Sutton Bangor, Derbyshire

Please could anyone help me find the birth of William Russ.  On census documents his birth is given as Sutton Bangor in Derbyshire.  He was born circa 1783 and I would appreciate it if anyone could give me more information.  Many thanks

Hi,
There is no place in Derbyshire named Sutton Bangor.
There is Sutton Benger in Wiltshire, the parish church of which is "All Saints", the
registers for this church are not on the IGI.  By using the name Russ, place of birth
Sutton Benger Wiltshire on the 1851 Census produces quite a number of persons
with this name, using Russ born or living in Derbyshire only produces John b 1782
with Mary his wife and children. 
Suggest the birth place is Sutton Benger Wiltshire and the Derbyshire entry on the
1851 census is incorrect.

Are you looking for a William Russ b 1782  or should it be John Russ b 1782,
John is the only one I can see?

Perhaps some kind person would do a look up for you in the Sutton Benger Registers.

Apologies.  Yes it is John Russ I am looking for.  I will have to put a post in the Wiltshire site to see if that leads me anywhere.  Thank you for your help.  I thought I had reached a brick wall.
