I have been tracing my family tree for a while now, I am no further on than the information below:
My GG Grandfather came from DENMARK ? (1901 Census) My mum told me that she was told as a child that they came from Norway. I have a family researcher in Denmark lokking for them and had no joy:
My GG Grandfather was Jacob Petersen DOB: 1851 - 1953 his trade was a blacksmith as far as I know he did not leave Denmark
My Great Grandfather was born in Denmark but came to Sculcoates possible fisherman. Peter Frederick Petersen DOB: 1874 in 1914-1918 changed his name to Peterson there is no record at the National Archives. Peter Married Susan Bauldry at St John's Church, New Clee, Caistor County of Lincoln - 21 Oct 1896
My Grandfather Rodmund Frederick Peterson DOB: 22 /1/1902 78 West Dock Avenue Hull
I can supply further information if I get a bite. Can anyone shed any more light more so the Denmark/Norwegian side. HELP
Keith

Darin,
Thanks for your 2 EMails.
I have ordered up the NA document.
I have also found his Marriage Certificate to May Alexander in 1921 - St Barnabas Hull. Today I have ordered this cert as well.
It may answer a lot of questions that have been around the family for generation.

Hi Keith,
That's brilliant.
I'm pleased that Jill and I could be of assistance.
I hope that The Petter Pettersen on the naturalisation is your ancestor.
My ancestors' document was closed for 100 years, and was not due to open until 2027, so I had to write to the Home Office to ask them if I could obtain it!
The time of Petters naturalisation has elapsed more than 100 years so it is obviously an open document.
I just hope that the naturalisation records for 1896 are as fruitful as 1926, as my ancestor's record basically told me his parents names and maiden name of mother, his birth place and when he came to the UK, and also a mini biography of his life up until the time of his naturalisation. It would have also told me the names of his siblings if he had any, but he was an only child.
Could you let us know if this is indeed the correct Petter, and if obtaining the naturalisation it has helped in your research?
Cheers,
Darin.
