both myself and a family member, who I recently made contact with for the 1st time, have got Charles Ernest Clutterbuck and Annie Louisa Belcher as being married in march 1902.
She is indeed Annie Louisa in the marriage registration (and he is Charles Ernest): Mar 1902 Portsmouth 2b 902.

Trouble is Belcher is a reasonably common name in this area and it could be anyone - better to wait for gogs to get the marriage certificate, his original posting was only guessing she was born Abingdon.

Hi Steve
I thought his cousin could be you...but gogs said he was waiting for the marriage cert of Annie Louisa Belcher and Charles E Clutterbuck, now you say it's Annie's daughters certificate which won't solve this problem at all as we were after Annies fathers name. OR am I totally confused

Hi Steve
It looks as though you are going to have to wait and see who the cert is for Still it shouldn't be long! The picture is of my mother in law, she died when my husband was very young so I never knew her and my husband doesn't remember her but she was certainly an attractive lady.

No problem gogs
But it looks like you are going to need the marriage cert for Annnie Louisa Belcher and Charles Clutterbuck for us to take this further.

Hi gogs
Presume you mean the marriage of Annie Louisa and Charles Clutterbuck.
To order it online go to http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates where you will need the following information Charles Ernest Clutterbuck Annie Louisa Belcher Quarter - March qtr 1902 District Portsmouth Reference 2b 902 and state at the beginning where it asks that you DO have the gro index reference (otherwise it will cost you more)
OR order from The Register Office, Mildam House, Burnaby Road, Portsmouth PO1 3AF phone no 023 9282 9041. They will not need the reference but give the rest of the info. Either way it will cost £7. Some other sites online that offer the service to get the certificate will probably charge you a lot more.
You can normally find the addresses of the registry offices by clicking the place name on the freebmd pages against the record you are wanting, this will give futher info on the area covered and take you to the office details
Any queries just ask
