I have just discovered the death of my great grandmother Emma Wells;  WE have ordered her death certificate but i would love to knwo where she was buried.  the registration district of the death is Chesterfield in 1893;  If you need more i will send it when i get the certificate;  Eise

Chesterfield registration district covers a very wide area, so the information from the death certificate would be needed to narrow down the area

Hi Suz,

Death certificate details;
Ok I have it here.  died - 2 May 1893. king Street Whittington USD (Not sure what USD is)
Emma Young was her married name. 39 yrs old. Wife of Thomas Henry Young - comedian; Dhe died from a form of TB. Phthisis pulmonalis and exhaustion after 18 months of illness. registered 2 may 1893 registrar - W C Furness;

The church at Whittington is St bartholomews -unfortunately Burials in Whittington are on line only for the dates 1813-1847

Whittington is only 2or 3 miles from Chesterfield .

There is Chesterfield Family history group which can be contacted

Derbys Ancestral group have also transcribed a lot of the MI's for the area - if no one comes up with the parish registers I will take a look at a local records office but that will probably be either late next week or a week Tues

I will try the sites you mention and see if i get any joy.  Thank you also for the meaning of USD. it all goes for extra filling for my family tree/site; WE have been searhcing for Emmas death fro 10 yrs.  !!!!  Thank again  eise

I have tried ther chesterfield history but no joy i am afraid.  if you get the time i would be very grateful for this burial of Emma.  As i said no rush we have been doing this for some years now and finally we have all the certs for Emma.  Nice if you can mange it but do not worry if youcannot get the record
