Dear Terry, I wonder if there are any MI:s relating to Bernard (Barney) McGhee or any John or William McCoy (McKie) at Kirkcolm
or any MI:s relating to James Graham, Craig McKay(McKie); John McCoy (McKie) or Daniel Gilmour(Gilmore) at Inch?
Many thanks for any information you can give.

Dear Terry, Many many thanks for taking the trouble to check. I much appreciate it. The William McKie you mention is not one of mine as far as I can see. Can I ask if there is a new Parish churchyard at Inch ? I am somewhat mystified by the death of Craig McKie/McKay . I met him as an old man just after the second world war when he lived on a cottage on the Stair Estate.

TERRY - I am helping my husband search his Hewitt family line. His grandfather was a commander in the Royal Navy, James Gilmour Hewitt (b1908 - d1973 Liverpool, Eng), m. Gwendoline Morris (b.1914 - d 1958). I read with interest your post from the Inch churchyard. The father of James Gilmour Hewitt was James Hewitt reportedly a chief engineer on a ship and from Scotland. I wonder if his great grandparents might have been the James Hewitt and Mary Gilmour mentioned in the church records?
Any insight would be appreciated. Many Thanks,
Pam Hewitt Marcola, OR USA
