Hi Toby
I am not sure if you have got the wrong Minster. My family were living in Minster in Thanet, Kent. Sorry I can't help you. Love the name though reminds me of one of my favourites Books when I was a child Milly Molly Mandy.
regards
Carol

Looking through the info on your Middletons I noticed there were some Townsends from Witney which are of interest to me.

I am looking for my partners family. There is mentioned in the details you were given Elsie Sarah Townsend who was born in Witney and it looks like the family worked in the mill at Witney from the 1891 census. Elsie was 11 in 1891 There was another Townsend listed with the Middleton Family in the 1891 census Elizabeth Townsend who was 32 and assume she was Elsie's mother.
I could be clutching at staws here of course. Information I have of my partners Townsends is Henry Townsend who married Lydia Dixon in 1829. They had a son William born 1834 in Witney he married Ann Ford in 1856 and followed his fathers trade as a hawker/mailman and then travelling showman.
If you can shed some light it would be helpful. I am probably working the wrong way round but as the family were travelling around it is difficult to get any further than my partners father.
