Welcome to Rootschat!
How sure are you of the dates? There is a Elizabeth Mabel Breeds born in Hastings in Sep 1908 which would push her marriage to at least the 1920s. You could get her birth certificate.

Hi
Here is her birth reference which will enable you to get a copy of her birth cert
Elizabeth Mabel Breeds September quarter 1908 Hastings Volume 2B Page 15
You can order online at www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ and the cost is £7
That will tell you her parents names and her mothers maiden name

Hi
There are quite a few Frederick Edward Richardson's - was he born in Sussex?
It may be better to get a copy of their marriage certificate to establish how old he was at that time
I've checked freebmd but as their marriage would have been in the late 1920's or possibly early 1930's, transcriptions for that period are thin on the ground
You will need to search the full GRO index which is available at your nearest main library. It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry subscription or at www.findmypast.com which is a paysite
Can I suggest you ask around any remaining family for details of when their first child was born. That will help narrow down their marriage year

Hi
They were married before 1928 - here's at least one of their children
Births Mar 1928 Richardson Betty M mothers maiden name = Breeds Hastings Vol 2b Page 31
And here's their marriage - they didn't marry in Sussex which is why I couldn't find it earlier

Hi
I've just logged in to the GRO website and made a "pretend application"
On the very first page where it asks for certificate type (ie) birth in your case - did you then scroll further down to the heading "For all events" where it asks if the GRO reference is known and asks you for the year
If not - that may be why it is asking for an actual date

Hi
It's not just addictive - it's expensive as well with copy certs at £7 a time. It's a wonderful hobby and I'm sure you will have a lot of fun tracing your family back through the various censuses
To trace Frederick - you really need the 1927 marriage cert as there are quite a few possible entries on the birth index so we need to pin down his age when he married

Hi
It's a pleasure. When you get the birth cert for Elizabeth - post a message with the info from it and we can then go backwards for you and find her parents etc
Same with the marriage cert. If Frederick came from Peckham - perhaps that's why they married there.
Once we know how old he was when they married and his fathers name, we may (hopefully) be able to find his birth reg
