Huguenot assistance & Surname Interest
« on: Sunday 04 April 04 16:38 UTC (UK) »

Hello Rootschatters, I was recently sent this instant message, I cannot personally help but perhaps someone can, here is the original message set below. If you are interested in this posting, please search for the username GLCROOKS, and not myself, I am unconnected & cannot assist with this query.

"Hi: I am new, so here are a few questions. On my Mothers side the name was Charshee, there were Huguenots from France and arrived in 1700's in Maryland (we think), so I amlooking for connections.

Secondly on my fathers side we are Scots and the surname is Crooks, we arrived around 1740 from Ulster and immigrated to western Pennsylvania. John Crooks Sr. (immigrant) was also a fuller and operated a fuller mill on his farm here, this is the only possible clue I have to Ulster and haven't located them there"
